¡¡¡¡In many places in the United States
public transportation isn't very good. Not
many trains or buses run from outside cities
(the suburbs) to downtown. Most people have
cars, and they like to drive. They drive
to work, drive to go grocery shopping and
drive their kids to school.
¡¡¡¡Most
people like to drive to work alone. There's
a "rush hour" every morning from
7:01 to 8:59, and every evening from 4:30
to 7:30.
¡¡¡¡In
New York, the average commuter spends 81
minutes a day--or 310 hours a year--going
to and from work!
¡¡¡¡Is public transportation in your country
good? What kinds are there between cities?
From outside cities to the downtown area?
Inside cities£¿
¡¡¡¡Do most people have cars? Do they drive
to work? Do they drive alone or with other
people? Are there rush hours? When are they?
